There are supposedly scientists out there who forget their own ideas in the process of filling out long funding proposals. This cliché—that bureaucracy reigns supreme in Germany—is probably as enduring as the image of the German in Lederhosen. But that view doesn’t really hold true. Research is generously supported in Germany and those who have good ideas get strong support—no matter where they come from. More















Contrary to popular belief, the German language is not all that difficult. You don't need to be able to speak German if you want to research in Germany. But if you'd still like to, you can begin with language courses at the various branches of the Goethe Institut world-wide. More
